Giant Bird Vertebra Cretaceous Africa

Undescribed speciesThis is from a giant flightless bird indeed. No other vertebrate that I know of fits this profile. Giant bird footprints are known from similar age strata in Morocco but this is a first and possibly unique specimen for sale that would grace any serious fossil avian collector. It is near complete and has great detail with red/brown colouration, being a massive 100mm or 4 inches in diameter and 48mm or nearly 2 inches in thickness. There is no restoration or repair on this specimen. It is Middle Cretaceous age circa 100 million years old and comes from the Continental Sandstone Deposits of the Kem Kem Basin, South of Taouz, Morocco, Africa. A side on view is shown below. Priced at £135. Quote Ref No. BIR 012
