Hybodus spThis rare cephalic spine is from an extinct hybodont shark . This spine has damage hence the low price. It has great detail, being 24mm across the tri-partite root. Asteracanthus Dorsal Spine Cretaceous


Asteracanthus spThis extremely rare dorsal spine is from an extinct hybodont shark . This has some damage and is missing the tip as seen. It has great detail with clear denticles despite some residual matrix still attached to the distal end, being 220mm or nearly 9 inches in height. There is repair due to 2 breaks on this specimen. The medial repair looks suspicous and therefore I cannot gaurentee that both halves are from the same beast. This is reflected in the asking price. It is Middle Cretaceous age circa 100 million years old and comes from the Continental Sandstone Deposits of the Kem Kem Basin, South of Taouz, Morocco, Africa. Supplied with label.
